Characterizing Watershed and Landscape Management

Abstract

For several decades, watershed simulation modeling has been an important tool in the domain of scientists. Locally led watershed management approaches require that local citizens and watershed managers become familiar with these tools. How has locally led watershed management developed recently? This chapter takes a brief look at the emergence of locally led watershed management and then looks at current roles of watershed management committees and the watershed management plans they create.
