Abstract

OBJECTIVE: Meiosis (M) I errors occur via 2 common mechanisms: non-disjunction (ND) or premature separation of sister chromatids (PSSC). In the latter, it is possible for the imbalance to correct during the 2nd meiotic division. This study seeks to determine the prevalence and correction of PSSC during meiosis in human oocytes, and whether corrected embryos are capable of implanting and developing normally.
