Abstract
AbstractThe generation and characterizations of supercontinuum (SC) optical source in wavelength‐division‐multiplexing radio‐over‐fiber (ROF) system is studied in this article. Factors such as the chirp and peak power of the pump pulse, the length of the SC fiber that affect the light source frequency stability are analyzed. The simulation results demonstrate that by altering the value of initial chirp, peak power and SC fiber length, the random fluctuation of the phase and intensity of the SC spectrum is different. At last by optimizing the initial value, an optimal optical source with high frequency stability as the optical source of ROF system is obtained by experiments. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
