Abstract

AbstractThe emulsifier free emulsion polymerization of methyl methacrylate was studied using sodium bisulfite as initiator in absence and in presence of carborundum. It was found that the carborundum has a catalytic effect on the polymerization reaction. The viscosity average molecular masses were determined. The polymers obtained in presence of carborundum have a broader molecular mass distribution.
