Abstract

Quality of construction material is an important feature which improves the strength properties of the structure. The obtainability of river sand in increasing mandate of the civil construction industries will task owing to an extensive range of inconsistency, quality, cost and shortage difficulties. The Eggshell generally which are disposed more, an effort has been made to work the options of using Eggshell powder (ESP) in concrete paver block (PB). Eggshells need be grinded into fine powder. sand was partially substituted by ESP at 10 % intervals from 0 % to 50 % by the process of replacement by weight. Research were carried out on 225 mm × 225 mm × 35 mm square PB for M20 grade. Concrete PB are cast and the tests are Density, Compressive strength, Flexural strength, Splitting Tensile Strength, Abrasion Resistance and Water Absorption test were carried out at the curing age of 14 days and 28 days. Results displays that 30 % of ESP add in concrete PB have good result. The use of ESP in PB will support to reduce the negative effects of their dumping. Hence, it is a “sustainable” concrete paving block.
