Abstract

Xenon NMR spectroscopy was used to characterize xenon in nickel-exchanged sodium-Y zeolites and the materials formed by reduction in H/sub 2/ and reoxidation in O/sub 2/ at temperatures of 25 to 370/sup 0/C. The results indicate that reduction of the Ni/sup 2 +/ ions led to their migration out of the zeolite cages and aggregation into particles on the zeolite surface. Reoxidation was not accompanied by redispersion of the nickel into the cages. 13 references, 4 figures.
