Abstract

This paper depicts the characterization of Kevlar-jute hybrid composite material. The composite material is fabricated by hand layup technique using epoxy resin. The material is tested for tensile, flextural, compressive and impact strength. Specimens for testing of material are based on ASTM standards for composite materials. The results obtained are tabulated. The results show that combining Kevlar with jute fibre composites can significantly improve the quality of Kevlar-jute composites and improve the properties of hybrid composites. The average flexural and tensile strength of the material are 95 N/mm2 and 122 N/mm2.The compressive and the impact strength of the hybrid composites are 452 N/mm2 and 21.86Joules/mm2.
