Abstract

Electron cyclotron resonance ion source (ECRIS) as the front-end for the neutral beam injection (NBI) system has production potential of hydrogen ion beam in tokamaks. In this article, two methods are hired to evaluate the plasma ion fractions: H+, H2+ and H3+ with respect to the ECRIS operating parameters. The methods are matured by utilizing 28 important volume and surface collisions processes. We encrypted a global 0D numerical model (GM) based on solving the nonlinear equations of plasma species as the first method. Next, a 3D plasma simulation (PS) is applied through the finite element method (FEM) by COMSOL Multiphysics. Then, the results are compared to the experimental data.
