Abstract

The BaTiO3 (BTO)/La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (LSMO) heterostructure has been fabricated by radio-frequency deposition on a sapphire single crystal substrate. Structure quality of LSMO layer was optimized by the proper choice of a substrate temperature during the deposition. It was found that the highly oriented LSMO bottom layer shows a marked effect on the structure properties of the BTO film in comparison with BTO on sapphire grown by similar process. 10-nm-thick BTO film on LSMO/sapphire demonstrated ferroelectric behavior according to C–V characteristics.
