Abstract

ABSTRACTCiris (Asphodelus aestivus L.), which has been used for a wide range of medicinal purposes and is indigenous in Tunceli, Turkey, was collected from the eastern and western parts of the city. The goal of this study was to determine the vitamins, essential elements, and antioxidant activity of this natural product. The 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl-hydrate radical scavenging activity, metal chelating activity, reducing power, total phenolics, and Vitamin A, Vitamin C, sodium, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, calcium, copper, manganese, and zinc concentrations were determined in ciris extracts.
