Abstract

WPD (Wave plate dryer) is a very vital SWS (steam-water separation) equipment for nuclear engineering. It is meaningful to study the rupture characteristics and mechanism of the liquid film on WP (wave plate) wall. However, there are few studies on rupture phenomenon at WP corner. In this short communication, the LFR (liquid film rupture) model at the corner of the wave plate is established. In addition, the calculation equation of the relative PLFR (position of the liquid film rupture) at the WP corner is deprived. Additionally, PLFR is measured by PLIF (Planar Laser Induced Fluorescence) method. The theoretical results agree well with the experimental results, which provides vital prediction method for LFR phenomenon in WP of SG (steam generator).
