Abstract
A criterion to predict the characteristic of fluidization of particles bed was discussed by adopting a modified Froude number, Frλc. The criterion derived from the hydrodynamic instability was compared with experimental data. In addition, the drag coefficient for particulate fluidized bed were found to be different from those measured for aggregative fluidized bed in a fully development fluidization.
