Abstract

This paper aims to provide data for planning of childcare facilities for the disabled, by examining the current situation of childcare activities in two childcare centers for children with disabilities called Day Service for Children, and clarifying the requirements of planning the physical environment of childcare facilities for the disabled, based on the results of observation studies. The behavioral settings gathered from observation studies were classified as 5 categories: arrival of children and preparation, morning and end day assembly, lunchtime, planned activities, and free playtime. Through analysis of each category, we were able to understand the behaviors of children with developmental disorder and matters that require attention in the planning of space.
