Abstract

Introduction: Determining the distribution disease is a necessary job in hospital management and is the basic for planning hospital development in the future. Objectives: Description of characteristics disease and treatment methods of inpatients at Hanoi Oncology Hospital in the period of 2017 - 2019. Subjects and methods: Using a retrospective design with data collected from the software system and medical records, 22245 inpatients were selected, first hospitalized at Hanoi Oncology Hospital from January 2017 to December 2019. Result: Cancer was the most common, accounting for 57.3% of hospitalized patients. The most common cancers in both sexes are thyroid cancer 27.8%, lung cancer 13.2%, breast cancer 9.7%, hepatobiliary cancer 6.5%, gastric cancer 6.5%. The most common type of cancer in men is lung cancer 22.3%. The most common type of cancer in women is thyroid cancer 46%. Surgery combined with radiation therapy is the most common multimodal treatment methods for cancer patients. Conclusion: This study provides more information about characteristics distribution disease, which is the basis for the hospital to plan and implement synchronous activities to improve the quality of people’s health care.
