Abstract

Hot foam with steam following in the process of foam injection and cold foam without steam following are investigated. Through static and dynamic evaluation experiments, foaming agents are screened and the effects of factors on foam blocking capacity are studied. Then the blockage and displacement experiments of cold and hot foam are conducted. The results show that cold foam has larger blocking strength and is preferred to start up low permeability contrast layers. Hot foam is recommended to use in higher ones and due to the temperature sensitivity of heavy oil, the oil production of hot foam is larger than that of cold foam, whatever continuation or slug injection.
