Abstract

Abstract Binary liquid mixture containing aniline and O-xylene is used to calculate adiabatic compressibility (β), free length (Lf) and acoustical impedance (Z) from the experimentally measured values of ultrasonic velocities and densities over the entire mole fraction range of aniline at temperatures T = (303.15, 308.15, 313.15 and 318.15) K. Molecular interactions between the components of liquid mixture have been explained on the basis of these thermo acoustical parameters and also by the C H, N H, C N bond stretching. The molecular interaction and presence of functional groups are confirmed from the recorded FTIR spectra and by the computed values of surface tension.
