Abstract
Fringe resolved autocorrelation functions generated by a train of subpicosecond laser pulses from a synchronously pumped ring dye laser were recorded. By comparison with calculated correlation functions one can not only derive the pulse duration of the center pulse, but also draw conclusions about the quasicontinuous background or satellite pulses of lower intensity.
