Abstract

One of the outstanding addresses at the annual meeting of the American Vocational Association in Pittsburgh last December was that of Professor Kilpatrick of Teachers College, Columbia University. This was given before the Vocational Guidance Section under the title, “The Relations Between General Education and Vocational Education.” Vocational guidance and education must not only take account of the fact that society is in process of change, it must also consider the kind of society we ought to have—and help to make it. The following is an authorized report of Dr. Kilpatrick's talk.
