Abstract

This chapter presents the identification of the pFq and G-functions with the special functions. The exponential function ez, the Bessel function Jν (z), and the sine integral Si(z) are the examples of named functions. Named functions are identified in terms of the pFq notation. The chapter discusses the named special functions expressed as pFq's. The so-called Coulomb wave functions are essentially confluent hypergeometric functions. The chapter discusses named functions expressed in terms of the G-Function.
