Abstract
This chapter discusses all basic and diagram-specific fields of knowledge for the Fundamental test for Object Management Group (OMG)-Certified UML Professional (OCUP) certification program. The Fundamental test covers the miscellaneous basic topics including primitive types; basic notions of unified modeling language (UML) modeling such as diagrams, stereotypes, and glossary; and basic notions of UML behavior. The chapter discusses exam-specific topics about class diagrams, namely, kernel, dependencies, and interfaces. It also discusses the basics for the representation and description of general behavior in UML to the extent relevant for the Fundamental OCUP examination. The process of modeling behavior involves a description of flows, time dependencies, state changes, the processing of events, and similar things. The representation and description of special behavior that occurs in activity diagrams, relevant for the Fundamental test, are also discussed.
