Abstract
This work is to investigate the mechanical properties of aluminum oxide and jute fiber mat (JFM) reinforced epoxy composites. The composites are fabricated by varying the number of JFM layers and the concentration of the aluminum oxide filler. The mechanical properties such as tensile, impact, compressive, flexural, and interlaminar shear were examined by ASTM standards. Form the results, increasing the quantity of layers increases the tensile properties of the composites. The maximum strengths are found for composites containing double-layer composites compared to one- and two-layer JFM reinforced epoxy composites. In the effect of filler content, the maximum tensile, flexural, impact, ILLS, and compressive strength was found for 20% filler content jute fiber reinforced composites.
