Abstract
The functional smart polymers and their derivatives (composites) have attracted great attention in this modern era due to their countless exclusive values in several applications such as actuators, switchable wettability, and environment-based applications. Many studies have been performed to fabricate the smart functional polymeric composite by using stimuli smart polymer moieties. Therefore, this chapter encapsulates the introduction, classification of smart polymeric nanocomposites, and their environmental applications. Furthermore, this chapter provides valuable insights and detailed study on the possibility of using smart polymer materials and their composites in water harvesting, catalysis, and antifouling applications which have great potential to make a stable and friendly environment.
