Abstract

This chapter presents ten texts which are selections from a larger corpus which the author recorded in Israel over the period from December 2004-December 2005. The author have tried to include texts which cover a range of topics and styles, primarily folk-tale, oral history, personal accounts and factual. The texts were all recorded with the informants' prior knowledge and consent, and the author made use of a small, unobtrusive clip-on microphone, in order to minimise the overformal and overly self-conscious use of language which can be occasioned by the awareness that one is being recorded to be studied. Keywords: texts; translations
