Abstract
The probability of spills from large-above-ground storage tanks is assessed for the Canadian and North American contexts. Spills from storage tanks constitute a large source of the volume and number of oil and petroleum spills. Depending on considerations, storage tanks may constitute the third-most frequent source of spillage in terms of numbers and volume.
