Abstract

This chapter discusses integral calculus. The evaluation of the indefinite integral of a function f, i.e. the calculation of the primitive function of a function f is called the integration of the function f. So integration is an inverse operation to differentiation. In general, however, the problem of the calculation of the integral of a continuous function, which one does not know to be a derivative of a certain function, is more difficult than the problem of differentiation. It is known only that every continuous function possesses an indefinite integral. The recurrence method for calculation of the integral and consists in calculation of the integral, in reducing the integral. The degree of the numerator is less than the degree of the denominator. The coefficients appearing in numerators of the partial fractions have to be found.
