Abstract

In this chapter, experimental methods are described to determine excess partial molar enthalpy, entropy, and volume of solute B in the B-W systems, HBE, SBE, and VBE, all of which are the second derivatives of G. Then the numerical and graphical techniques for obtaining third derivative quantities using the experimentally obtained second derivative quantities, are shown. Finally, the direct experimental determination of a third derivative quantity, SVδB, by constructing a differential pressure perturbation calorimetry is described.
