Abstract

In this chapter, we mainly introduce the methods of micro-Doppler feature analysis and extraction. We will focus on time-frequency analysis method, image processing method, orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) decomposition method, empirical-mode decomposition (EMD) method, and high-order moment function analysis method, and analyze their applications in micro-Doppler feature analysis and extraction. In these methods, time-frequency analysis method is the most commonly used; image processing method, formed by using algorithms in image processing for micro-Doppler feature extraction, can be applied in the estimation of target micro-Doppler curve parameters combined with time-frequency analysis method; OMP decomposition method is a matching deposition method, which is especially put forward for the analysis of sinusoidal frequency-modulation micro-Doppler signal; EMD method is a typical nonlinear analysis method; high-order moment function analysis method aims at fast extraction of target micromotion feature with rotation or vibration. Comparison of these methods is provided in the last section of this chapter.
