Abstract

There are five main standards for cryogenic valves design that are discussed in more details in this chapter. In addition to the standards, there are various end users and contractor cryogenic valve specifications that should be considered and applied by the valve suppliers for design of the cryogenic valves. These main standards are summarized as follows:1.BS 6364 is a specification or standard for valves in cryogenic service.2.MSS SP 134 is the other standard for valves in the cryogenic valves including requirements for body/bonnet extension. MSS standards for Manufacturers Standardization Society of the Valve and Fittings Industry.3.ISO 28921 addresses the valves for low temperature application.4.EN 12567 addresses the isolation valves for Liquified natural gas (LNG) services.5.ISO 21011 addresses valves for cryogenic services.
