Abstract
Pinch analysis has been explored to extend the concepts to carry out minimisation of other valuable resources such as water and hydrogen. Apart from concentrating on strategies to optimise the reduction of input material, pinch analysis is also innovated to address carbon constraint-based resources planning, especially in devising macro-level energy schemes. Thus, in this section, water pinch analysis and hydrogen pinch analysis are presented with extensive examples. In addition, carbon emissions pinch analysis (CEPA) is discussed briefly to demonstrate the application of the carbon pinch.
