Abstract

Preterm birth is associated with long-term health and developmental sequelae. This chapter reviews pulmonary outcomes in all preterm infants (including those born very preterm and late preterm). In addition, the chapter provides a review of outcomes of subgroups with bronchopulmonary dysplasia and the potential effect of smoking. Future research directions are highlighted.
