It is well known that topography is one of the soil-forming factors. This chapter discusses the main regularities in the influence of topography on spatial distribution of soil properties exemplified by soil moisture content. In particular, we explain the role of slope gradient and aspect; horizontal, vertical, and mean curvatures; as well as catchment area and topographic index.
