Abstract
The use of technogenic geochemical barriers for soil protection in the areas of operating mining industries, and at the already exhausted and abandoned fields of ore and nonmetallic mineral resources, is considered. The modern classification of geochemical barriers, first developed by A.I. Perel'man, is given.
