Abstract

A comparative analysis of different maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control techniques is presented in this chapter for medium-sized variable speed wind energy harvesting system. The MPPT algorithms such as proportional integral controller (PI), fuzzy logic controller (FLC), multilayer feed forward neural network, radial basis function neural network, and adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) algorithms are analyzed and compared. The comparative analysis results have shown that ANFIS controller gives better efficiency especially in comparison with PI and FLC under variable wind speed.
