Abstract

Three phase partitioning (TPP) is a rapid, simple, and cheap bioseparation technique for the separation and purification of proteins, enzymes, nucleic acids, viruses, antibodies, and cell organelles. This chapter discusses peroxidases focusing on applications of TPP in purification of plant peroxidases. The non-animal plant peroxidases are considered as one of the important industrial enzymes because of their medicinal, biochemical, immunological, biotechnological, and applications. TPP system is mostly dependent on the concentration of alcohol and salt used. A comparison between TPP and other conventional method is also discussed. To sum up, the present chapter includes the industrial importance of plant peroxidase, comprehension of conventional purification method and TPP, and application of the three phasic systems to plant peroxidase.
