Abstract

Cyberphysical power systems (CPPS) could be highly affected by security threats due to their nature. In this chapter, a secure filter for discrete-time systems affected by the two major kinds of cyberattacks, that is, distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) and deception attacks is proposed. The cyberattacks are modeled as Bernoulli distributed white sequences with variable probabilities. First, a predefined level of security is guaranteed by setting a sufficient condition using the techniques of stochastic analysis. Second, the gains of the proposed filter are obtained by solving a linear matrix inequality (LMI) using Yalmip and Matlab/Simulink. Finally, an illustrative example of a single machine connected to an infinite-bus is solved to show the effectiveness of this method on CPPS.
