Abstract

Energy harvesting from magnetoelectric materials has gained attention in the last few years. Overcoming the drawbacks of ceramic magnetoelectric materials by making use of polymer-based magnetoelectric materials paves new routes in the fabrication of highly flexible new generation devices. Here in this chapter we briefly discuss the emergence of magnetoelectric materials and the selection of magnetic and ferroelctric materials ferroelectric polymers, polyvinylidene fluoride and its copolymers for composite preparation. Different types of composite Heterostructures and various techniques for composite preparation, such as solvent casting and electrospinning, are also discussed in this chapter. Finally, the application of polymer-based magnetoelectric materials in the field of energy harvesting is discussed.
