Abstract

This chapter describes the local scour mechanism around the foundation of continuous structures (such as submarine pipeline), isolated structures (such as offshore platform), pier structures (such as spur dike), and other kinds of marine structures; discusses the application of in situ detection, physical model test, numerical simulation analysis method in basic scour and stability analysis; and discusses the principles and specific methods of scour protection measures for marine structures foundation reinforcement, seabed antiscour ability improvement, and improvement of local flow field around structures foundation.
