Abstract

Natural gums have been gaining importance as a biomedical material in the past few decades owing to their biocompatibility, nontoxicity, ease of chemical modifications, availability, etc. They are in wide use in other industries such as food and pharmaceutical. In this chapter, the usage of natural gums as nonviral gene delivery vectors is reviewed. It is observed that the usage of natural gums as a gene delivery vectors is limited to very few among them.
