Abstract

Lipid inventory in Toxoplasma gondii reveals the presence of neutral and polar lipids, as found in any eukaryotic organism. Lipid metabolism in the parasite is essential for the production of infectious progeny, signal transduction for proper interactions with mammalian cells, and the long-term persistence in the host.
