Abstract
This chapter discusses the role of the supply chain within innovation. The chapter highlights the necessity of having an integrated approach to the supply chain if the process is to he effective in producing successful innovation outcomes. The chapter uses case study evidence to highlight key issues of supply chain management. Many cases are discussed in detail, including Nissan. Kodak, Rank Xerox. ICL(D 2 D), the National Roads and Motorists Organization (NRMA). Cadillac Motors, Zytec and Texas Instruments. The chapter ends by proposing a model of host practice on the basis of evidence collected from a benchmarking exercise.
