Abstract
For characterizing the structure of carbon materials by Raman spectroscopy, we have to pay attention to the experimental conditions, such as the calibration of Raman frequency using Ne lamplight line. The experimental conditions are explained in detail. The availability of the Raman parameters, particularly the full width at half maximum of the G band (G-FWHM) and the intensity ratio of the D to the G bands, is discussed using carefully obtained experimental results for various carbon materials with different textures and heat treatment temperatures. The relations between the Raman parameters such as G-FWHM and the average interlayer spacing d002 are examined.
