Abstract

The work is devoted to the optimization of the process of processing liquid organic waste of production and consumption by anaerobic bioconversion in biogas plants through the use of an electromagnetic mill (apparatus of a vortex layer of ferromagnetic particles vortex layer apparatus [VLA]). A description of the main characteristics of the process of anaerobic conversion of organic waste is given. A description of some of the methods developed to intensify the process of anaerobic conversion using microorganisms is given. A description of the operation of an electromagnetic mill, also called a VLA, is given. The chapter describes a number of methods for increasing the efficiency of anaerobic conversion of organic waste due to additional processing of waste in a VLA, which were directly investigated by the authors. It is shown that the combination of the positive effects of the use of the VLA in biogas plants in combination with low specific energy consumption for own needs and ease of operation makes it possible to optimize the complex process of anaerobic conversion of volatile solids during the processing of organic waste using anaerobic microorganisms.
