Abstract

Gaseous fluid drilling processes are executed following special operation procedures to ensure process success and safety. This chapter outlines these procedures and presents illustrative examples for mitigating operation problems. Operation procedures in gas drilling minimize drilling complications, such as pipe sticking. Operation procedures in foam drilling ensure foam stability and properties. Operation procedures in gasified liquid drilling reduce well control issues and borehole collapse. Illustrative examples are presented using the spreadsheet programs GasDrill-20.xls, FoamDrill.xls, and GasifiDrill-20.xls provided by this book.
