Abstract

This chapter discusses various calculation procedures. It discusses the treatment in the computer program. Distances are calculated in DISTAN. The reciprocals of ρu are computed. They are used for the computation of cell areas that are put in the AREA array, where they may be used for source-term calculations in PHYS; at the same time the I's of equation are computed, and put into the Y array. BPI and BPE are computed or obtained from earlier visits to WALL. These are used in the special sequences that are adopted for the half-cells close to the I and E boundaries. The finite-difference grid should cover the boundary-layer region adequately, but no more. When this region adjoins a stream of undisturbed fluid, the outer-grid edge coincides with the location at which the velocity first has that free-stream value.
