Abstract

The growing global demand for solid biofuels simultaneously drives research into investigating, developing, and promoting sustainable biomass-to-biofuel conversion routes. Pelleting and briquetting consist two widely applied mechanical conversion routes of solid biomass feedstock to biofuels. Through the densification process, the raw material is converted to a homogeneous, high-quality end-product with advanced physical and mechanical properties, lower moisture content, and higher energy density.
