Abstract
Traffic management is undoubtedly a central element in developing intelligent transportation systems. To enhance traffic management, we want to efficiently forecast the future traffic trends and successfully detect traffic congestion to respond accordingly by making the necessary decision. Reliable forecasts and traffic congestion monitoring are needed to support many aspects of decision-making to improve transportation systems. This chapter concludes this book and offers several potential future research lines.
