Abstract
This chapter begins with a review of the status and activities of key metal powder producers around the world. A global survey is given related to the relevant activities of major metal powder producing companies and industry trade associations. Company profiles have been arranged alphabetically according to the geographic zones including North America (Canada and the US), Europe, Japan, and the rest of the world by country. The profiles of the companies are also listed in the chapter that have either been provided by the companies, compiled from responses to letters and questionnaires, or from published sources. In addition, leading metal powder producers in each of the ferrous and non-ferrous categories are tabulated in the chapter according to the latest reported or estimated plant capacities. This method of ranking is chosen to overcome the difficulties of listing by sales volume, because these numbers are considered confidential. Also, in the non-ferrous category the wide differences in price of the various types of powders also make such comparisons of limited value.
