Abstract

This chapter examines the streamline numerical well testing interpretation models for polymer flooding and alkaline/polymer combination flooding multilayer sandstone reservoirs. The streamline numerical well testing interpretation model for a polymer flooding multilayer reservoir includes a filtration mathematical model of the production period and a streamline mathematical model of the testing period. The polymer solution, whose viscosity is the function of shear rate, is a kind of non-Newtonian fluid, and viscosity is related to solution concentration, salinity and shearing. The streamline mathematical model for a polymer flooding multilayer reservoir of the testing period is similar to that for water flooding. The difference is that the influence of saturation and polymer concentration should be considered when calculating mobility parameters of streamline nodes. When polymer flows through porous media, the permeability decreasing factor is defined as the ratio of water effective permeability to polymer solution effective permeability. For the filtration mathematical model of the production period, the streamline method is used to solve saturation, polymer concentration and alkaline concentration.
