Abstract

Uveal melanoma and retinoblastoma are the most common primary intraocular malignancies in adulthood and childhood, respectively. The role of noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) on the carcinogenic process of neoplasms has been widely demonstrated. In this review, we aimed to provide a clinical overview of the current knowledge about ncRNAs in relation to these two tumors. Despite the fact that these molecules are considered potential diagnostic biomarkers, prognostic factors, and therapeutic targets, further studies will permit a better understanding of physiopathology and define the role they can play in clinical practice.
