Abstract
Ash deposition and fly ash properties are important parameters in boiler design, and the formation and deposition of ash is closely related to the change of the mineral matter in coal combustion. The formation and transformation of ash are extremely complex under coal combustion and are carefully considered in the study of problems related to ash deposits, such as slagging, fouling, and corrosion. This chapter focuses on the behavioral changes of minerals in coal under oxy-fuel atmospheres, mainly the formation of ash, the migration and transformation of iron-containing minerals, the characteristics of ash melting, and slag in oxy-fuel conditions.
